Event description

This event is part of the upcoming National Trusts Heritage Festival that runs from April 18-May 18.

Join Uncle Rick for a tour on Country to see the original heritage of this land on Djaara Country in the Castlemaine region. You will visit the National Trusts Tree of the Year 2023, the Guildford Big Tree plus see rock wells and grinding grooves and enjoy some bush teas.

A Welcome To Country and Smoking Ceremony is part of this tour as a cleansing to ensure you walk with good spirit.

This tour starts and finishes at the Castlemaine Market Building at 10am with the Uncle Rick coach picking you up and returning you to same location at approx 2pm.

We HIGHLY recommend leaving time before or after the tour for a visit to the Boorp Boorp Boondyil exhibition inside the Market Building.

It gives residents and visitors a chance to walk through an interactive space, where they will learn the history of the area. It features the story of the Eagle, the Bat and the Crow, the Creation Story of the Dja Dja Wurrung in the Mount Alexander region, as told by the Nelson family.

We look forward to meeting you and journeying with you.
