Event description

Under The Trees is a laid back music and arts festival located 'under the trees' between the soccer fields and oval on Jacaranda Drive, Boyne Island. It is organised by the community, for the community, entirely run and built by volunteers. There are two stages of entertainment, street theatre performance, two licensed bars and multiple food stalls. Interstate and local acts will perform a mix of genres ranging from blues & funk, to rock & reggae, to deliver an outdoor festival experience for all ages!

In 2023, Under The Trees expands to be a two-day event, with our festival beginning on Friday with headline band 19-Twenty, and our stacked Saturday featuring Fat Picnic, JUNO, The Lyrical and more!

Secure your spot and enjoy the festival!

Through the Here For Gladstone program, transport for our 2023 event has been sponsored by Rio Tinto Yarwun, Boyne Island Smelters, and Queensland Alumina Limited.

Through this sponsorship, they’re providing valuable assistance in covering the costs of hiring/contracting bus services.

As a result, we are able to offer $5 bus tickets to and from Calliope, Benaraby and Gladstone to get you safely to the event and home again. As an added bonus, when you take our community bus through Boyne Island / Tannum Sands (trips being a gold coin donation, per person per trip), or book with our Kinetic Buses outside of the BITS area, the money raised will be split between both the Mission To Seafarers and The Salvation Army.
