Event description
Hey y'all!
We are BACK x did you miss us?
This is the remaining 3 session ticket drop for part 3 of our ballroom instalments.
TICKET INSTALMENTS:
INDIGENOUS AUSTRALIANS & TRANS WOMEN (Mob & Femme Queens) - FREE
GENERAL ADMISSION - $15 to help pay for the space & grow the community.
TOPICS COVERED:
SESSION 2; VOGUE FEMME CHOREOGRAPHY. - 10/11/2024 - 5:00PM - 7:00PM.
In previous workshops it has been mentioned to Skye that a choreographed, beginner-friendly Vogue Femme class would be beneficial to allow attendees to learn the technicalities of Vogue Femme.
SESSION 3; VOGUE FEMME, HANDS PERFORMANCE & STORYTELLING. - 24/11/2024 - 5:00PM - 7:00PM.
In the 3rd training session Kate & Skye will be hosting before the end of 2024, we will be focussing on further breaking down the elements of Vogue Femme. We will be then exploring how to utilise your arms & hands to tell a story through the medium of Voguing, & explore what voguing means to you & how to carry that spirit.
SESSION 4; CATEGORY DRILLS - COMMUNITY TRAINING VOL 1 - 08/12/2024 - 5:00PM - 7:00PM.
The final Workshop, but the start of something new. In this workshop we will be putting the last 4 months of learning to practise & running category by category drills. Find your passion, find what category you gravitate to & let it all out for this final workshop.
Kate & Myself acknowledge we are hosting this workshop on Ngunnawal/Ngambri land, we pay our respects to indigenous elders past present & emerging.
That respect extends to any and all indigenous people/s.
Sovereignty was never ceded.
Always was always will be.
Additionally, we acknowledge the roots of Ballroom & the suffering endured by the queer black & latinX community of which Ballroom is rooted in, & we understand our position as guests in the scene, but also as leaders to uplift & empower those bodies.
Thus this workshop will be a QTBIPOC PRIORITY workshop. non-QTBIPOC still welcomed & encouraged.
As always this space is FREE for INDIGENOUS AUSTRALIANS & TRANS WOMEN, otherwise, tickets will be $15 to help pay for the space & carve the way for larger spaces as well as bring more established elders in the Ballroom Australia scene to come and share their knowledge with the Ngunnawal/Ngambri Ballroom scene.
We will not be checking ticketing comprehensively. We expect that you choose to pay as a respectful guest of the Ballroom community, and as a guest on Indigenous land. All profits and donations are to run this event. It is not for profit.
We look forward to seeing y'all there x
- Skye & Kate
