In a time where antisemitism manifests both on the streets and online with alarming frequency, understanding its undercurrents is more urgent than ever. To address this pressing need, AJF is privileged to bring Project Shema to Australia, led by Zachary Schaffer, Co-Founder & VP of Community Engagement, thanks to the generous support of the Besen Family Foundation.

We invite you to participate in a 4-hour workshop to empower Jewish leaders with essential knowledge and skills for handling challenging conversations about antisemitism in progressive environments. This workshop will teach participants strategies to foster understanding, empathy, and compassion. It focuses on helping non-Jewish allies recognise and address anti-Jewish sentiments, particularly those that surface on the left and in discussions about Israel and Palestine.

Key Outcomes from the Workshop:

Gain a comprehensive understanding of why anti-Jewish ideas often remain unnoticed and unchallenged, establishing a shared framework for recognition and response.
Learn a specific engagement strategy that offers a new approach to confronting and navigating complex challenges.
Enhance your ability to effectively explain Jewish identity and antisemitism, deepening your understanding of its various forms and how they manifest.
Develop the skills necessary to confidently approach and engage in intricate and sensitive dialogues.

About Project Shema:

Project Shema stands at the forefront of tackling contemporary antisemitism, particularly focusing on the nuanced discussions around Israel and Palestine. Established by Jewish leaders deeply rooted in equity and advocacy, Project Shema champions a narrative of empathy and comprehension, striving to create inclusive spaces for Jews in diverse environments.
