Event description

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND WILL BE RE-RUN ON 26 OCTOBER AS A WEBINAR

Understanding autism:

Professional Development Workshop

This workshop is for anyone who wants a better understanding of autism and how the characteristics of autism can change the way an individual interacts and responds to those around them.

With more than 15,000 individuals with an autism diagnosis in South Australia, this session will provide participants with a better understanding of the autism spectrum across the developmental ages, and how autism can impact an individual’s everyday life. Using discussions, activities, videos and lived experiences, participants will be sure to have a better understanding of this complex neurological difference, and how it can impact on an individual’s everyday functional skills.

With a greater understanding of autism, participants will begin to be able to identify practical strategies and supports that can be put in place to enhance an individual’s skills and achieve personal goals.

Suitable for professionals supporting all ages.

All participants will receive a certificate with the workshop title, the number of hours and will state that the training links to the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers (where appropriate).
