Join us for a discussion event into the overlap of domestic and family violence and family law. 

Joining this event is Monica Serci, a Senior Associate at Parker Coles Curtis and is a distinguished family law attorney. Monica has experience in all manner of family law including high-risk family violence matters where she has demonstrated her ability to navigate sensitive and challenging situations. Monica served as the Vice-President of the Canberra Region Family Law Professionals Association, actively contributing to the advancement of family law practices in the region. Additionally, Monica was a General Council Member of the ACT LGBTIQ+ Ministerial Advisory Council. She champions inclusivity and equal rights with a strong commitment to the community and advocating for social justice.

This event aims to shed light on the diverse forms and risks of DFV in the LGBTQIA+ community.

It will unpack the barriers and challenges to accessing legal support and provide information on the legal understandings of family violence, family violence in financial settlements and parenting disputes.
