Laura Jones

Laura is an experienced innovator and engineer with a demonstrated history of working across multiple industries. She has delivered large customer-focussed projects such as the Consort – Bruny Island Battery Trial. She has had a diverse work history spanning field testing, power system analysis, planning, innovation, and most recently economics & business models. She currently works as an economist on a REVS: Vehicle to Grid fleet grid services demonstration project.

Bryce Gaton, AEVA EV consultant, safety trainer and writer

Bryce has been working and writing on Electric Vehicles (EVs) for over a decade. His interest in EVs comes in part from his desire to lead a low environmental impact lifestyle – plus the fact that EVs are way better to drive than fossil fuelled ones! His latest EV drive is a Hyundai Kona electric in which he has already covered over 20,000km – a third of which has been interstate travel.

Bryce’s work is currently split between EV consultancy and as the EV safety trainer/supervisor for Melbourne University’s School of Engineering. He is also the secretary of the Victorian branch of the Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA), chair of the Victorian AEVA sub-committee for EV Charging Support and editor of EV News. (The national newsletter of the AEVA).

He regularly writes on EV topics for TheDriven website and Renew magazine and on behalf of both AEVA and Renew presents on EV issues and opportunities to government, business and community groups.

Glen Morris, SolarQuip

SolarQuip principal, Glen, has extensive experience in system design, install and maintenance of on and off-grid renewable energy systems (including solar, wind and micro-hydro).

Glen is a sought-after trainer and presenter in the solar PV field, both nationally and internationally. Glen has provided renewable energy training for many years and currently teaches at Swinburne TAFE, Melbourne.

With his software company Solaris Pty Ltd, Glen has developed the first online solar PV system design software customised for Australian conditions and using high resolution satellite solar radiation data.

Glen is a member of a number of key industry advisory and regulatory committees including EL42, the committee responsible for maintaining the Australian Standards for solar PV design and installation. He also has extensive experience as an inspector of solar PV installations and provides consultancy in various aspects of renewable energy performance analysis.

As former Vice President of the Australian Solar Council, Glen helped develop industry training and certification which is delivered across Australia.
