Exploring Loss and Grief

Event description

Loss and grief can be lonely and isolating. When loss hits us or our loved ones we are often not sure what to expect or how best to help ourselves or others.  Are you

    • Struggling with a major loss and grief?
    • Not sure if your grief is ‘normal’?
    • Want some of your questions about coping with grief answered?
    • Wondering how you can support a friend or family member in their grief?
    • Not sure where to find resources?

The Compassionate Communities Collaborative are offering this introductory workshop by loss and grief counsellor and educator Helene Hipp. This is not a therapy session, but it will give you guidance on grief and loss and show you where to begin.  This is a face to face session and will be interactive, including a question and answer session at the end.

Helene has worked as a loss and grief counsellor and educator for over 20 years and has had the privilege of supporting many people in the midst of their grief. She has been a bereavement counsellor in hospice and palliative care services and works with other losses, including cancer diagnosis, movement into residential care and watching a loved one with dementia progress in their illness.

Helene works from the perspective that each person is whole, individual and worthy of respect, care and a safe place to be listened to, so they can explore their grief in their own time and way. She provides loss and grief counselling and education online and in person in the Southern suburbs.

Join us to explore more about loss and grief.
