Understanding Islam:

A One-Day Seminar with Rev Mark Durie PhD, ThD, FAHA

Join us for Understanding Islam, a one-day seminar designed to equip all Australians with a clearer understanding of Islam and help them engage thoughtfully, confidently and respectfully.

Led by Rev Mark Durie, author, speaker and cultural commentator with decades of experience in cross-cultural ministry and public engagement, this seminar will explore Islamic beliefs, teachings and history, as well as some of the challenges these present for Christians, Jewish communities and wider society.

Across four sessions, Mark will cover:
What Is Islam? - The Basics: Understanding Islamic beliefs, practices and worldview.

The Downside - Challenges: Exploring aspects of Islamic doctrine, history and their impact.

Islamic Antisemitism: Examining antisemitism within Islamic teachings and its historical and contemporary significance.

A Christian Response - What Can Be Done? Practical ways to respond with love, truth, wisdom and hope.

This seminar is an opportunity to become better informed, equipped and engaged, with time to consider difficult questions in a Christian context.
