UNDERSTANDING SCREEN ADDICTION IN TEENS
Thursday, July 3rd 6:00pm-8:00pm.
Charles Sturt University Lecture Theatre, Port Macquarie

Proudly hosted by headspace Port Macquarie in partnership with Charles Sturt University, Understanding Screen Addiction in Teens is designed for parents, carers and those who work with youth including health professionals & educators, who want to understand the impacts that screen and gaming use can have on the brain, how it may look in teens and some practical strategies for support.

Facilitated by Dr Wayne Warburton, a Professor of Developmental Psychology at Macquarie University and a registered psychologist, Wayne brings a wealth of knowledge to the event - that you don't want to miss!

He is co-author of the books Growing Up Fast and Furious and The Importance of Media Literacy and is a renowned speaker who has worked with parents and professionals over the last 20 years, particularly around issues related to media use and behavioural addictions such as screen disorders and problem gambling.

His work and his RES@T-A Australia program were the subject of a touching Australian Story on the ABC that followed two teen boys with a screen disorder through the intervention program (March 6, 2023; www.iview.abc.net.au)
