Understanding Sex and Gender Diversity

This event has passed Register

Event description

Presented by A Gender & Agenda (AGA)

This two-hour workshop is delivered by the ACT’s leading trans, gender diverse and intersex peer support organisation. It is for everyday people who want to better understand and support our community.

We will explore the basic concepts of sex (bodies) and gender as well as the language used within the intersex, trans and gender diverse community. We’ll provide a judgement-free, welcoming environment where you can ask the questions that you might feel too awkward or embarrassed to ask elsewhere so that you can be a better ally at work and in everyday life.

About AGA

A Gender Agenda (AGA) works with the intersex, trans and gender diverse community. This includes intersex people, transgender people, gender diverse and non-binary people and other gender non-conforming people. We acknowledge the important role that partners, family members and allies play and these people are all also welcomed as part of our community.

AGA is a unique community organisation actively engaged in increasing public awareness and understanding of intersex, trans and gender diversity issues. In addition to training and education, we provide advocacy and support services, information and resources and are actively engaged in human rights and law reform.
