Event description

This FREE 3 hour training is for practitioners, professionals and frontline staff who work directly with family and domestic violence (FDV) victim-survivors. It provides basic knowledge of trauma and assists participants in understanding the various ways in which trauma can impact victim-survivors of FDV. It includes information on traumatic reactions and common trauma responses and shares core concepts and best practices in responding to victim-survivors who have experienced trauma.

Learning outcomes:

  1. Describe the types, dynamics and impacts of trauma for FDV victim-survivors
  2. Identify common trauma responses in victim-survivors and respond to minimise further traumatisation
  3. Respond to victim-survivors who have experienced trauma using trauma-informed best practices

The workshop is for FDV practitioners, professionals, frontline staff or other workers who support victim-survivors of FDV or sexual assault or who support people with experiences of psychological trauma.
