Children's Autism Foundation (now proudly integrated with Autism New Zealand) presents "Sensory Differences in Children on the Autism Spectrum", a workshop for parents/caregivers, support workers, teachers, teacher aides and any professionals who engage with children and young people on the autism spectrum.
This workshop will answer your questions and provide you with knowledge & strategies to support children through the many different sensory sensitivities they may encounter.
Topics covered:
- What are sensory differences?
- What sensory sensitivities may affect autistic children & young people?
- What are our 3 "extra" senses?
- Practical tools & strategies for helping children to manage sensory sensitivities.
Plus plenty of time for Q&A at the end of the session.
Facilitated by Jo Sutton.
Jo is a National Educator at Autism New Zealand. She is proud mum of three children, one of whom is autistic. Jo is passionate about supporting autistic children and their whanau to live their absolute best lives.
This workshop is FREE for parents/caregivers/whanau thanks to support from the LW Nelson Charitable Trust.
