Uniquely Human

Jax Picken is a renowned South Australian stand up comic who began entertaining audiences all over the world more than 10 years ago. They will perform, ‘Uniquely Human’ for the first time in Sydney at The Substation during Pride Fest 2025 season.  

‘Uniquely Human’ is an hour of crafted story-telling, including how they ended up brushing their teeth on a webcam at 0200 and how a first date that started in a Las Vegas Hot Topic store ended up in a witch’s coven-stead. Jax who presents comedy with a twist of the knife, and known by audiences for their biting wit and sharp observations. Having a theatre background spanning over 25-years thus adding layers to their stand-up shows that set themselves apart. 

Jax has taken their comedy around Australia, England, Iceland and even performed a surprise set on a bus from France to Switzerland. They debuted their first three solo shows during the Adelaide Fringe in 2021, 2022 and 2024 to sold out audiences and Critical acclaim. Their debut hour "Normal People Are Just People You Don't Know That Well" was selected by an esteemed panel of their peers to close the first Treehouse Comedy Festival in 2021
