Uniting Conversations - 'Good Grief!?'
Event description
Grief impacts our lives and the lives of our children in many ways. As we get older we grieve over the loss of skills and fitness. We also find ourselves facing the loss of aged parents, the prospective loss of our partner and even the death of a child. And then, we often find ourselves perplexed because we are not sure how to assist a relative, friend, colleague or child grieving over a significant and, perhaps, tragic loss.
You’re invited to join our conversation about ‘Good Grief’ … is it possible!?
We are sure you will find it helpful. We also believe that your contribution to the conversation will be of help to others. So please join us.
Speakers and Panelists will be:
Dr. Kate Jurgens has been volunteering and working in the field of grief and loss for 30 years including both paediatric and adult palliative care services, trauma and emergency services, and family caregivers.
She adheres to the belief that “every person, in their own way, in their own time”, while addressing blocks and encouraging healthy and considered responses to grief.
Vivi Boucher, has lived most of her adult life co-leading arts-focused communities in Australia and in the UK. She created and ran “Colours of Life” creative arts-focused workshops held in the hospice and out in the many different local cultural communities and schools. She is now involved in Southern Vales Compassionate Communities, again running “Colours of Life” creative workshops and starting a monthly “Compassion Café”, engaging with adults around the issues of grief loss and ageing.
