Description

Join us for an evening exploring unlikeable and complex female characters through crime fiction.

Victoria West is a Brightonian with an avid love for both books and adventuring in nature. In writing and reading, Victoria loves all things dark and challenging; her characters are often morally murky, set against a stunning backdrop. Her debut, Never Alone, was released in June 2026 and follows Ella, a socialite turned podcaster and her unhinged unknown stalker.

Sam Frances is a crime thriller author from Tyne and Wear. She writes stories that combine her love of sardonic characters with her background in policing and lives in London with her partner and their wolf pack of pets. When not writing (or daydreaming about writing or listening to writing podcasts), she can usually be found no more than 9-10 metres from a block of cheese, either in deep conversation with one of her cats, or playing a musical instrument poorly. Author of the DS Alice Washington books, All Eyes on You was her debut novel, followed by the second in the series, One by One.NB: We apologise for the inconvenience but our bookshop is currently not wheelchair accessible.

The toilets are located on the ground floor.

The event space/bookroom café is located at the top of a staircase (17 steps).

Please do get in touch if you’d like to know more details to plan your visit ahead.
