Beyond the Search – Exploring the World of AI

An Interactive AI Workshop for Writers, Creatives and Curious Minds!

Artificial Intelligence is changing the way we write, research, learn and create. But are you making the most of it?

Join the Gold Coast Writers Association for an engaging, informative and hands-on workshop as we explore the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Whether you're a published author, aspiring writer, editor, student or simply curious about this rapidly evolving technology, this workshop will introduce you to the incredible possibilities AI has to offer.

And don't worry — you don't need to be a tech genius to participate!

💡 What Will We Explore?

AI Beyond Google: Discover why AI is much more than a search engine and how it can become a valuable creative and research assistant.
Meet the AI Tools: Explore popular AI platforms such as ChatGPT and Claude and understand how they work.
The Art of Prompting: Learn how to ask AI the right questions to get more useful, relevant and accurate responses.
AI for Writers: Discover how AI can assist with brainstorming, character development, research, editing and overcoming writer's block.
AI in Everyday Life: Explore how AI can support learning, planning, productivity and problem-solving.
The Limitations of AI: Understand why AI doesn't always get it right, the importance of fact-checking and how to use these tools responsibly.

🎯 This Is an Interactive Workshop!

We won't just be talking about AI — we'll be exploring it together!

You'll see practical demonstrations, discover useful techniques and have opportunities to ask questions and participate.

Bring your curiosity, your questions and, if you wish, a laptop, tablet or smartphone so you can follow along.

✨ AI Isn't Here to Replace Your Imagination!

For writers, creativity remains uniquely yours. AI is simply another tool in your creative toolbox — and knowing how to use it effectively can open up exciting new possibilities.

No previous AI experience is necessary. Beginners are welcome!

Our events offer the opportunity to connect and share with like-minded people in a relaxed environment.

Guest speakers are invited from all genres of writing. Speakers are encouraged to share information about their writing life, discuss their techniques, and sell their books.

We encourage guest speakers to include a mini-workshop for members during their presentation.

Workshops are held at each event. These workshops provide informal opportunities for members and visitors to enjoy hands-on writing, listening, and reading activities in small groups.
