Event description

This one-off workshop will explore simple skills to access bolder and more interesting characters.

Using voice, attitude and movement, you'll learn exercise and tips to fast-track your way into characters you wouldn't usually play and therefore new and more exciting scenes.

To Take part in this workshop you should have at least 1 year of improv experience, and be comfortable in performing scene-work.

This workshop is 1 of 2 end-of-year one-offs with PopRox. Check out our Taking the Plunge workshop with Jed Davies. If you want to book for both workshops, then you can select a "double pass" ticket on this event and we'll add you to our list for the other workshop.

ABOUT THE TEACHER
Austin Harrison
is one of Aotearoa's most prolific improv performers, producers and teachers. He's a founding member of PopRox, a 6-time winner of Late Night Knife Fight and a Wellington theatre Award winner. Austin specialises in interactive and narrative work and loves the full spectrum of joy improv has to offer!

THE STAND-BY LIST
PopRox
firmly believes that improv is for everyone, especially when it comes to sharing skills and knowledge. So we're offering "the stand-by list" for all our workshops in 2024. We'll giveaway any spots remaining a few days before the first workshop of the course, on a first-come-first-serve basis. No need to provide a reason, no questions asked. If the entry fee is a barrier for you to come along, then simply email poproximprov@gmail.com and we'll pop you on the SBL. Everyone on the list will be notified whether there was a place available for them 3 days before the workshop.
