    Event description

Farm dams are essential to our thriving farms. They are more than just water reservoirs. Beyond providing reliable supplies of good-quality water, your dam can be a biodiversity hotspot and help reduce your carbon footprint, while unlocking financial opportunities. Planted-up dams can add to the productivity of your farm and help reduce the need for chemicals by adding natural predation with increased habitat. In this seminar, a team of scientists from Deakin University will talk about sustainable farm dams and their role for biodiversity and the carbon cycle.
