Description

Dig into soil health with David Hardwick (Soil Land Food) in a hands-on workshop covering soil biology and practical steps to assess and improve your soil.

Event details:

Discover what’s really happening beneath the surface of your farm.

In this hands-on workshop, South East Local Land Services and David Hardwick of Soil Land Food explore soil health and soil biology, with a focus on building productive, resilient landscapes through living soils.

On the day, you'll learn how to:

  • understand the essentials of soil biology, including soil microbes and organic matter

  • assess your soil biology and identify opportunities for improvement

  • explore the range of fertility inputs, from on farm to commercial products

  • choose, evaluate and confidently use fertility input in your own systems.

Designed for farmers, land managers and anyone passionate about healthy soils, this interactive session focuses on real‑world, practical tools you can apply straight away. No theory overload, just useful insights you can put into practice.

Come ready to learn, ask questions, and get your hands dirty.

Additional details:

  • BYO chair, hat, water bottle and appropriate clothing for outdoor activities.

  • Morning tea, lunch and refreshments will be provided.

  • This workshop will be held on farm – biosecurity protocols will be communicated prior to the event.
