Unmasked: Exploring Connection through Movement, Play and Sound @ Om Yoga Emu Plains Saturday on September 19
Description
UNMASKED: Half-Day Workshop
For the curious, heart led individual who craves real connection but find most social situations exhausting.
Step into a space of curiosity and exploration of what it means to be human.
There will be no small talk, no pressure to overshare; just genuine connection and self expression through play, movement and sound.
You don't need to know anyone. You don't need to share anything personal. You just need to show up with curiosity.
Unmasked is an opportunity to drop all labels and be seen for who you truly are; to experience what it feels like to show up fully, even if it's messy, raw, loud, quiet or unfiltered.
And the best part? There's no way to do any of it "wrong", because you literally can't fail at being yourself.
Through fun, playful exercises in authentic connection, movement and reflection, you will be guided to:
Explore meaningful connection through simple, practical communication games
Create space for real conversation and genuine presence
Experiment with being open and expressive without the weight of gender/societal roles, stories (eg. I'm too loud, I share too much etc) and expectations
Practice being seen and celebrated for exactly who you are
Invite curiosity and self-honesty
Here's why this workshop is so special:
We will gently surface and reframe the limiting beliefs that keep you playing small.. you know, the ones that whisper "you're too much" or "you're not enough." Through play, movement and sound, you'll witness these patterns shift in real-time and feel the transformation in your body. This is where insight becomes embodiment.
This is what I like to call depth with a soulful twist. It's real inner work, real breakthroughs wrapped in lightness, laughter and genuine human connection.
We will end our day with a scintillating sound journey featuring the dreamy sounds of the handpan, crystal singing bowls and other delicious vibrational instruments to anchor the learnings into everyday life.
Personal development doesn't always have to be heavy or constantly revisiting traumas from the past. It can be light, fun and full of laugher, so come as you are with no experience necessary. This is a safe, all inclusive event - all ages 18+, backgrounds, pronouns.. everyone is welcome 🤗
And a delicious vegetarian lunch is provided!! 🥗
If you are curious I encourage you to lean in! See you in circle.

FAQs
- What if I don't know anyone?
Awesome, this means it's a clean slate. You get to be seen by people who have no idea of your story, your masks, your history. Even if you are coming with a friend, you will not be staying together. This is time for YOU to connect with yourself and others.
- I'm interested but not sure
That's the edge, my love. The curiosity that brought you here is asking you to trust it. It's an invitation to explore what happens you choose it over comfort. Still reading? That's your yes.
- What if I'm introverted?
You're not being asked to be the loudest person in the room. You're being invited to be fully present and that's where your strength already lives. This is for anyone who scroll through their phone feeling more lonely than connected. Who leave social gatherings feeling drained because they didn't want to drink or party or talk about surface level BS. Who have deep thoughts with nowhere to share them. You know that feeling when someone really sees you and suddenly you can breathe again? When a conversation goes somewhere real and time disappears? That's what Unmasked is for: a space to just be yourself around people who actually want that too.
- What if it's awkward?
It might be.. for about 10 minutes. The exercises are specifically designed to help you get out of your head and just enjoy being in the moment regardless of what you're feeling. I've been doing this for years so don't worry, I've got you.
And trust me, everyone else in the room may feel just as nervous and unsure as you are
- Sounds a bit long and intense
Authentic connection takes time. Between each exercise, movement, lunch, sound journey, every component has been designed to flow seamlessly from one to the other without rushing.
- Do I have to share deeply personal stuff? What if I cry?
Only if you want to. This is about practicing openness and presence (not trauma dumping or oversharing). You get to choose your level of vulnerability. The exercises create a safe space to explore your edge. All emotions are welcome; laughter, tears, deep sighs; it's all part of being in our humanness.
My dear mentor calls this an "authenticity gym" where you get to practice asking for what you need, honouring your body and taking that into real life to improve your relationships and communication skills with those around you.
