Somewhere in the last few years, your attention became the most valuable thing you own, and everyone wants a piece of it.

Notifications. Feeds. The little red circles. The reflex to reach for your phone in the ninety seconds while the kettle boils. You know the feeling: tired but wired, never quite here.

Witches Falls is where we go to get it back.

More than a century ago, the settlers of Tamborine Mountain swore they heard strange voices in the mist below these cliffs, and so the place earned its name. In 1908 it became Queensland's very first national park. It has been quietly minding its own business ever since: no signal, no screens, just ancient trees, palm groves, birds you've never heard, and a forest that has never once asked you to update anything.

Unplugged is a three-hour, mostly silent walk on the Witches Falls circuit (3.1 km, easy to moderate) with one rule: your phone stays off and out of reach for the whole morning. We will keep it safe for you. You'll get it back. You may not want it.

What to Expect

8:30am | Arrival & The Phone Nest – We meet at the Witches Falls picnic area. After a short welcome and intention, every phone goes into a shared pouch, switched off. This small ritual is the doorway into the morning.

8:40am | Meditation and Walking Into Silence – We start with a short Meditation and Breathwork circle, then We enter the rainforest without talking. Along the circuit there are gentle invitations to notice: the scale of the trees, the temperature of the air as we descend, the sound of the forest without an algorithm curating it.

9:30am | The Lookout – At the escarpment, with the valley open in front of us, a guided heart-centred meditation to feel what remains when the noise is removed: gratitude, clarity, and whatever is actually asking for your attention.

10:00am | Circle & Snacks – A sharing circle among the trees and a surprise Manfulness activity. Then the return walk, more relaxed, more chatty, at your own pace.

10:00am | Phones Back, Optional Café – We return the phones together. Notice what you feel before you turn it on. Then, for those who'd like, coffee at one of the mountain cafés.

No meditation experience needed. The trail is well maintained, with steps and a moderate descent and return climb. Please note: the falls themselves only run after rain, so come for the forest, not the waterfall.
