Unrestricted - A Night of Comedy, Art, and Doing Good

UNRESTRICTED is an intimate evening of candid conversation, live improv, and laughter celebrating the transformative power of the arts in our communities. Hosted by The Walls Project on Colorado Gives Day, the event will explore how integrating arts and creativity into neighborhoods, schools, and public spaces strengthens communities, creates connections, and builds a sense of belonging—and why the arts are so often treated as an afterthought when it comes to funding.

The evening will begin with a lively, sometimes tongue-in-cheek conversation featuring Casey Phillips, Dr. Mackie, and two additional voices (tbd) from the local arts and nonprofit community, potentially an executive director and a working artist. Together, they’ll explore the joys, challenges, and occasional absurdities of operating and funding arts-based nonprofits. Meanwhile, a local improv troupe will listen closely, collecting stories, observations, and memorable moments from the conversation to inspire an entirely original comedy performance during the second half of the evening.

Ultimately, UNRESTRICTED is about championing the arts, celebrating the people who make creative communities possible, and reminding everyone that while the work is serious, we don’t always have to take ourselves so seriously.
