About the Film 

15 Amore (1998), directed by Maurice Murphy and starring Steve Bastoni, follows a mother and her three children living on a remote Australian farm during World War II. Their quiet life changes when two Italian POWs and later a German-Jewish mother and daughter arrive seeking refuge. 

The fragile arrangement evolves into a deeply human story of connection, conflict, and blurred cultural boundaries. 15 Amore has been celebrated both in Australia and abroad, with accolades including:

Writer and director Maurice Murphy drew from his own childhood in wartime Australia to create 15 Amore. His career includes The Aunty Jack Show, Fatty Finn, and a tenure as Head of Entertainment at the ABC.
