Unsung Heroes is much more than an event, it’s a movement and the goal is bold and clear: to raise $5 million in three years to build Australia’s first-ever 24/7 Wellbeing and Education Support Centre for unpaid carers.

Unpaid carers are the true unsung heroes in our communities, placing the needs of others before their own, often at the expense of their physical and mental health. Our aim is to ensure that these carers receive the 24/7 support and care they deserve, when they need it most.

The inaugural gala set the bar high – with over $350,000 raised thanks to show stopping performances from leaders like Triple M’s Margaux Parker, Nat Nixon, and Universal Store CEO Alice Barbery. In 2024, once again our Singing Heroes did us proud raising over $250,000!

ABOUT THE CARERS FOUNDATION AUSTRALIA

Celebrating our 10-year Anniversary, The Carers Foundation was Established in 2015 specifically to provide support to Australia’s true unsung heroes – unpaid family carers. These selfless people give up their own lives to care for their loved ones with a disability or illness, often with no choice.

Founding director Ronnie Benbow OAM had always had a burning passion to support Carers since she was a young nurse, when she identified that Carers had worse health conditions than the person they were caring for.

Ronnie saw firsthand the impact of caring when a 15-year-old boy who was caring for his mother (who had experienced a massive stroke), took his own life as he could no longer cope since he was alone and unsupported.

Since then Ronnie has been working tirelessly to support unpaid family carers by providing preventative wellbeing programs with the purpose to avert mental and health crisis breakdowns from compassion fatigue.

Any additional donations are fully tax deductible.
