Upcycling Embroidery Workshop
Description
Join local embroidery artist Lily Adelaide Upton for a relaxed upcycling embroidery workshop. Bring your own item to upcycle - a t-shirt, cap, tote, pillowcase, anything fabric will do! Lily will walk you through some basic embroidery stitches, then you can choose a design from flash sheets to upcycle your item. Anyone from beginners to experienced embroiderers are welcome.
This workshop is for adults only.

What to expect
We’ll use ‘stick and stitch’ patterns which adhere to your item, then wash away with water once you’re done stitching. Hand embroidery is a very slow process, so depending on the design you choose to stitch, you might not complete your project within the workshop time. But don’t worry, you can take your project home with everything you’ll need to complete it! The workshop will be a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Perfect is absolutely not the goal! Lily will be floating around to help troubleshoot, fix mistakes, and chat. Choose up to 3 patterns, and 3 full skeins of embroidery floss! You’ll also get a 5-inch embroidery hoop and an embroidery needle to take home.
What to bring
Please bring an item to upcycle. This can be a t-shirt, a cap, a tote bag, a shirt, a pillowcase - anything fabric! The embroidery patterns wash away with water, so make sure your item is okay to get wet. Lily will also have fabric available that you can stitch onto and display in your embroidery hoop.
