And for the last hour, Kelly will provide participants with advice about their own projects - so bring along something you’d like to upholster and get some advice about where to start. Ideal for anyone wanting to get started in upholstery! This isn’t a hands-on workshop.
Kelly will cover the different ways you can tackle projects and the basic tools you'll need. You'll get a run through of different ways you can tackle projects. There will be lots of tips and tricks that will give you confidence to breathe new life into tired old pieces of furniture and get you started on a creative and rewarding, very addictive hobby!
You’ll be shown:
- a range of hand tools - must haves for getting started.
- some different examples of furniture to see how to tackle basic upholstery projects
- a range of webbing, dacron, foams, tacks and fabrics and how they’re used for different jobs
- how button covering and piping can add a more professional touch to projects.
If you have an upholstery project you'd like to tackle, bring it in and Kelly will provide advice about where to start!
