UQ Faculty of Science Orientation: Own the unknown!

Kickstart your study journey by joining us at Orientation. Get familiar with campus, meet new friends, and discover resources that will help you succeed academically and socially.

This is a two-day event for all postgraduate coursework students in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology and Molecular Biology.

For students in the following programs:

  • Graduate Certificate in Bioinformatics

  • Graduate Diploma in Bioinformatics

  • Master of Bioinformatics

  • Master of Bioinformatics Research Extensive

For students in the following programs:

  • Graduate Certificate in Biotechnology

  • Graduate Diploma in Biotechnology

  • Master of Biotechnology

  • Master of Biotechnology Research Extensive

For students in the following programs:

  • Graduate Certificate in Molecular Biology

  • Graduate Diploma in Molecular Biology

  • Master of Molecular Biology

What to expect:

Day 1: 9:15am - 5pm

Day 2: 9am - 12:30pm

9:30 - 12pm

  • Head of school and Program Directors Welcome

  • Health and Safety Induction

12-2pm

  • 2 hour lunch break (not provided)

2-5pm

  • Academic Integrity tutorial

  • Student Science Leaders welcome

  • Student Support and Opportunities information

  • Afternoon Tea

  • Meet UQ Association of Postgraduate Students

  • Cross-discipline Problem Challenge with other postgraduate student in Science

9-11am

  • Research Project Information Session
