Urban Analytics x Umami Press: BLCK MAMBA (BRU), ZJOSO (TRIBQU)
Event description
Urban Analytics returns with its third instalment partnering with local staple Umami, delving into the depths of global rhythms and dancefloor-driven sounds, celebrating genres like UK funky, amapiano, afrobeats, grime, and baile alongside the soulful sophistication of ’90s House, Broken Beat, and Detroit Techno.
Heavy hitters BLCK MAMBA (BRU) and local staple ZJOSO (Tribqu) will unite the dance floor with playful grooves, rich musicality, sparking movement, connection, and joy through diverse and boundary-pushing sounds.
BLCK MAMBA (BRU):
Brussels-based DJ and producer Blck Mamba is shaking up Belgian nightlife with a fearless blend of hip hop and club music. Think UK funky, amapiano, Baltimore, grime, afrobeats, hard drum, perreo, dancehall, and baile—unapologetically fun music designed to make you move.
Of Nigerian descent, Mamba is carving out her space in the global music scene. Her debut tracks dropped in 2021 via UK label Future Bounce, marking the start of her journey as a producer. With her own beats, Mamba aims to add fresh energy to the club music community, bringing catchy raps and drum-heavy productions to life for an electrifying and connected dancefloor experience.
Always scouting for the sounds of tomorrow, she shares her discoveries weekly on Studio Brussels, where her radio show introduces listeners to emerging genres and artists worldwide.
Blck Mamba also curates 'Mo Mamba', a club night that’s all about inspiration and joy, featuring like-minded DJs from across the globe and spreading the pulse of the scene. Supporting other artists is central to her ethos, using her platforms and events to elevate the community.
Influenced by trailblazers like Nina Las Vegas, Jamz Supernova, Kampire, Bambii, Jubilee, and Mina, Mamba is a force redefining what it means to connect through music.
ZJOSO (Tribqu):
West African by heritage and based in Naarm (Melbourne), Zjoso has swiftly established himself as a cornerstone of the city’s musical landscape.
As the founder of Tribqu, a platform celebrating underground music and culture, Zjoso has forged a unique identity as a DJ, radio host, and curator. His monthly Skylab radio show has gained a cult following, while the Tribqu dancefloor invites an open exploration of sound and movement, unbound by genre. Tribqu has become a catalyst for a thriving community of like-minded music lovers.
A versatile and accomplished DJ, Zjoso channels his deep love for soulful music across an eclectic spectrum. From Street Soul and Dub Reggae to ’90s House, Broken Beat, and Detroit Techno, his refined taste and sharp technical skill have cemented his presence in Naarm’s club scene. Seamlessly moving between dancefloors and radio waves, his talent has earned him spots alongside legends like Ron Trent, Glenn Underground, Marcellus Pittman, Errol (Touching Bass), Hagan, Shy One, Bradley Zero (Rhythm Section), Ruby Savage, Steve Spacek, and Dreamcastmoe. Notably, he set the mood at Flow Festival, supporting acts such as Digable Planets and KAITT.
Rooted in a love for dancing, a passion for sharing music, and a drive to unite people, Zjoso is shaping the future of Australian dance culture.
