Urban and Weed Foraging Walk

A guided foraging walk through the Randwick Sustainability Hub and Environment Park and surrounds, identifying edible and useful plants growing in our local urban environment. Participants will learn to safely identify common edible weeds and urban plants, understand their uses, and gain confidence in sustainable foraging practices. The workshop content will rotate seasonally to reflect the plants available and the needs of each season (e.g. warming recipes in winter, cooling preparations in summer, hayfever relief in spring).

What to expect:

• Expert-led guided foraging walk

• Seasonal plant identification and foraging education

• A link to a free recipe guide using locally foraged plants

• Printed plant ID guide for the local environment

What to bring:

•      Participants should wear enclosed shoes and sun protection.

•      Water bottle

The Saturday Circle

This event is part of the Saturday Circle, a monthly repair, share, regeneration, reuse and resilience-building get-together at the Randwick Sustainability Hub, 27 Munda St, Randwick. Held every second Saturday of the month, most events are from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.
