Urban Farm Bike Tour
Event description
This event is a chance to explore the urban farms in Ōtautahi Christchurch and to connect and korero with others in the organic community. We will meet at Smith Street Urban Farm, where Georgina the head farmer, will give us a tour and korero about the farm. Afterwards we will bike to Addington Urban Farm. The bike route has been planned on as many cycleways as possible and on slow, quiet roads. If you are not comfortable to bike on the road or are unable to, you are welcome to catch the bus or take your car. The bike ride will take about 30 minutes (7.4km). Wilby the head farmer of Addington Urban Farm will then give us a tour and korero about the farm and the impacts they have had on their community. We will end with a kai, which we will provide (gluten free and vegan options).
