Urban market garden tour of Melbourne Food Hub
Come along to explore and learn how a desolate, ex-landfill site has been transformed into an amazingly abundant space of organic food and flower growing, plus community connection.
Led by Clare Harvey, Urban Farmer from Melbourne Food Hub, this exciting tour will open your mind to the possibilities of urban food hubs in metro settings. Clare will discuss the unique methods of construction used to overcome the challenges of the site, how soil and compost are built, various methods of organic pest and weed control, as well as what exciting flower and food crops are in the ground currently.

Bio: Clare Harvey is a qualified horticulturist and market gardener with many years of experience spanning across organic farms, community gardens and permaculture projects.
She is very passionate about the intersection of food growing and social justice, and the ability for urban farms to rehabilitate land and bring community together.
