Urban Nature Stewards: Living cooler, greener and wilder for nature
5-week course
Join us and become part of a growing group of Urban Nature Stewards
Our cities and urban places are important habitat for many native species and there are things we can all do to better protect, support and enhance nature at home and across the urban environment.
In partnership with the City of Onkaparinga, Green Adelaide and Folk of All Trades are excited to bring you this 5-week course which will connect you with people in your local area, provide environmental concepts and techniques that are relevant to an urban context, inspire and empower you with environmental knowledge, and support you get more involved in caring for the land, animals and waters across the region.
Course topics include:
Ways of being an urban nature steward
Understanding local native flora species
Building biodiversity at home and across your community
How plants and gardens can help cool homes and neighborhoods
Maximising rainwater to help sustain urban ecology
Ways to get involved in community efforts
How to plan for nature at your place
Course details:
When: Thursday evenings
Duration: Five weeks
Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm
Where: McLaren Vale and Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre
Cost: $30 per person
