TALK 01: Urban Regeneration Through a Systemic Lens: Reimagining Cities as Living Systems
Speaker: Carolina Cardoso
Carolina Cardoso explores a transformative perspective on urban regeneration inspired by a systems thinking approach. “Cities, like living organisms, rely on energy, materials, and information flows to thrive,” she explains. Understanding these flows and their interconnectedness allows us to reimagine cities as dynamic systems aligned with the principles of life itself.
The talk delves into how a systemic approach can move us beyond linear solutions, offering holistic strategies that integrate social, ecological, and economic dimensions. From fostering community resilience to restoring ecological balance and promoting equitable growth, Carolina provides actionable insights for imagining cities that are not only revitalized but truly regenerative.
