Urban Rewilding

Are you longing to experience a deeper sense of connection to the place, plants and animals where you live?

To feel a sense of belonging to a wild community – even in the city?

The Urban Rewilder invites us to experientially explore skills and practices that cultivate a sense of intimacy with the ‘wild’ within an urban context. In this ‘age of separation,’ it is our important that we return to a more meaningful connection with the wider natural world, especially for the majority of us who live in the city.

Join experienced facilitator and Rewilder, Claire Dunn for a deep dive into Urban Rewilding.

'Wild edibles' is a 1 day session that can be experienced on its own, or as part of the 8 week The Urban Rewilding course.

Wild edibles
Weeds by generally thought of as unwanted, but some of the most common are edible, nutritious and delicious. It’s good to remember that one culture’s ‘weed’ can be another’s valued crop or a sacred medicinal plant. Chances are that in your garden or nearby park, you’re bound to find a good number of edible weeds. Some of the more common ones are mallow, milk thistle, cleavers, clover, oxalis, onion weed, catsear, dandelion, wild lettuce, wild radish, chickweed, plantain, dock, canna lilly, nettle and fat hen. Many of these plants have been eaten or used for their medicinal properties for thousands of years. In many countries some are still staples today.

Join us for this wild foraging wander where we will identify and taste a variety of both introduced and indigenous wild edibles. Session include sharing a foraged wild lunch.
