Using Geoscience Data in the classroom
Join Geoscience Australia for a day exploring remotely sensed data and how to apply it in the classroom. Hear from scientists working in the fields of coastal geomorphology, flood vulnerability, and earthquake monitoring and learn about Geoscience Australia’s role in community safety and preparedness for natural disasters. The new Digital Atlas of Australia will also be introduced.
Workshops during the day will enable participants to explore freely available satellite, landcover, coastal and natural hazard data hosted by Geoscience Australia. All participants will receive access to teacher guides and student activities.
A $25 voucher for the Blackstone Café at Geoscience Australia will be provided to attendees to contribute to their lunch costs.
Capacity: 25 teachers
Requirements: Bring your own laptop and a computer mouse is recommended.
