Using heat pumps in beverage production | Melbourne site tour by A2EP

Join us for a one-day site tour to explore the use of heat pumps in beverage production, where we’ll visit Port Phillip Estate and Kooyong Wines, Energy Smart Water's factory in Dromana, and Brick Lane Brewing in Dandenong.

Our first stop will be Port Phillip Estate and Kooyong Wines, a boutique luxury winery and award-winning facility that uses Energy Smart Water heat pumps and solar PV for its bottling process, set in the picturesque Port Phillip area. We'll tour the winery and learn about their transition to energy-efficient operations.

Next, we’ll enjoy lunch with the team at the Energy Smart Water factory in Dromana. Energy Smart Water is an importer and distributor that brings world-leading renewable energy solutions to Australia, and has won awards for their work with Thermal Energy Solutions and Port Phillip Estate and Kooyong Wines. After lunch, we’ll take a guided tour of their factory.

Our final stop will be Brick Lane Brewing, where we’ll explore the brewery and hear about their sustainability journey. We’ll hear about their waste heat recovery system and their plans to integrate heat pumps. The discussion will begin with an overview of the brewing process, focusing on how and where energy is used, followed by insights into opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and decarbonisation. We'll also sample a selection of their finest beer, and some tasty snacks, before heading back to Melbourne CBD.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided on the tour.

For those wishing to join and leave the tour at Brick Lane Brewing in Dandenong, we have arranged a bus pick-up point.

Itinerary

8:45am: Meet at the bus pick-up point outside the Bureau of Meteorology, 700 Collins St Melbourne CBD (approximately 100m from Southern Cross Station)

9am: Depart from Melbourne CBD

9:45am: Pick up at Brick Lane Brewing: 41 Imagine Way, Dandenong South *for those wishing to join the tour from Dandenong rather than in Melbourne CBD!

10:45am Tour of Kooyong and Port Phillip Estate Winery: 263 Red Hill Rd, Red Hill South, Mornington Peninsula

12:30pm Lunch and tour of Energy Smart Water: 11 Dalkeith Dr, Dromana

2:45pm: Beer tasting and tour of Brick Lane Brewing: 41 Imagine Way, Dandenong South

5:00pm: Arrive in Melbourne CBD, drop-off outside the Bureau of Meteorology, 700 Collins St Melbourne CBD
