Welcome to Sydney! Explore your new home with our fun sightseeing tours at USU Day Trips. These trips are the perfect opportunity to discover iconic Sydney landmarks, explore unique cultural experiences, and make new friends along the way.

 All tours have a $20 refundable fee - if you attend the tour you will be refunded the $20

 A Day of Thrills & Fun! Get ready for an adrenaline-packed day at Luna Park! Scream your heart out on exciting rides, test your luck at carnival games, and enjoy classic theme park treats.
📍 Meet Up:  Herman's Lawn 10:00 am - A hired bus will take you to the location, but you'll need to arrange your own transportation home

🎶  14 Mar | Opera at the Opera House - Candide

 A Theatrical Spectacle Awaits! Experience the magic of live opera inside the world-famous Sydney Opera House. Watch Leonard Bernstein’s classic operetta Candide, a vibrant and comedic masterpiece performed by some of the best talents in the industry.
📍 Meet Up: Sydney Opera House front stair  at 6:45 pm. 
(Please ensure you are not late, as we will begin issuing tickets to those on the waitlist if you arrive after 6:55 pm

🏞️ 21 Mar | Blue Mountains - Scenic World

 Breathtaking Views & Nature Adventures! Explore the stunning Blue Mountains and enjoy an unforgettable visit to Scenic World. Ride the world’s steepest railway, take in the breathtaking Three Sisters view, and stroll through ancient rainforests.
📍 Meet Up: Herman's Lawn 8am -5pm

 Feel the Energy of Live Rugby! Watch a thrilling rugby match at Allianz Stadium and experience one of Australia’s most beloved sports. Cheer for your favourite team and immerse yourself in the electrifying atmosphere of live sports.
📍 Meet Up: In front of Allianz Stadium at 6:45 pm

 Sydney’s Biggest Festival! Immerse yourself in the fun and excitement of the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Enjoy carnival rides, farm animals, delicious food, and spectacular performances in this annual celebration of Australian culture and agriculture.
📍 Meet Up: Herman's Lawn 10:10 am - A hired bus will take you to the location, but you'll need to arrange your own transportation home

🏛️ 2 May | Aboriginal Harbour Heritage Walk 

Be touched by the most ancient human culture on earth on a 60-minute leisurely walkabout with an Aboriginal guide in Sydney's Botanic Gardens, and journey through the culture and land of Aboriginal People.
📍 Meet Up: Holme Building lvl 4 , Club & Society Office at 12pm. We will take public transportation together.

🥾  9 May | Spit to Manly Walk

 A Scenic Coastal Hike! Join us for a breathtaking 10km coastal walk from Spit Bridge to Manly. Discover secluded beaches, Aboriginal rock carvings, and spectacular ocean views along this famous Sydney trail.
📍 Meet Up: Herman's Lawn 8:15 am - A hired bus will take you to the location, the trip will end up in Manly beach , please arrange your own transportation back 

🍿 16 May | Hoyts Movie Night - A Real Pain

 Lights, Camera, Action! Unwind with an exciting movie night at Hoyts. Enjoy the latest blockbuster in a comfortable cinema setting with reclining seats and delicious popcorn.
📍 Meet Up: In front of Broadway Hoyts at 6pm

🐋 23 May | Whale Watching

 Spot the Giants of the Ocean! Witness the awe-inspiring sight of whales migrating along the Sydney coast. Hop aboard a guided cruise for an unforgettable experience with these magnificent marine creatures.
📍 Meet Up: Circular Quay at 9:15 AM. 

🌿 30 May | Aboriginal Bush Tucker Tour (Reconciliation Week)

 Taste & Learn About Indigenous Bush Foods! Join a knowledgeable guide for a Bush Tucker Tour, where you'll learn about traditional Indigenous foods, their cultural significance, and even taste some native delicacies.
📍 Meet Up: Holme Building lvl 4 , Club & Society Office at 10 AM . We will take public transportation together.

What is USU Day Trips?
USU Day Trips is an event series for USYD international and domestic students to make new friends and explore all the best parts of Sydney. In semester 1, we're running weekly Day Trips to various highlights, from an High tea Cruise       to a movie night at Hoyts, and so much more!

Who can join Day Trips?
Day Trips are open to all USU Members. If you aren’t a member yet, make sure you sign up today so you can come along and enjoy all the fun. The best part is, it's free for all USYD students! Sign up for USU membership here.

What are the Covid-19 safety requirements?
Day Trips attendees are required to follow all of the University's Covid Safety Precautions, any Covid Safety requirements issued by NSW Health. This may include but are not limited to wearing masks on public transport and checking in via the Health QR.

What if I don’t receive my confirmation email?
Please email us if you don't receive confirmation of your registration.

What happens if it's bad weather?
Most of the USU's Day Trips will go on regardless of the weather, so make sure you pack appropriately! Make sure you have water and a hat if it's sunny, and an umbrella if it's raining. If the weather is too severe for the Day Trip to go on as scheduled, you will be notified via email and offered a refund or a change of date option.

Tickets are sold out. What do I do now?
Please click join the waitlist on Humanitix. Note that the waitlist is limited as well. But don't worry if you miss out on this Day Trip, the next one is just around the corner!

Can I join on the day if someone doesn’t show up?
Since our day trip events are typically very popular and have a high attendance rate, it's unlikely that spots will open up on the day. However, if you're still interested in joining, you can sign up on the "on the day waiting list ". About an hour before the event starts, a waitlist link will be added to the event information on Humanitix (you’ll find it in the event description section under that specific day trip). Just keep an eye out and fill it in once it appears!

By participating in this event, I agree to the terms and conditions:
1. Participants are responsible for their own behaviour and any resulting consequences. The University of Sydney Union shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or theft of personal belongings or any injury to the individual or others resulting from the event. Furthermore you agree to abide by the terms and conditions of this event.
2. All attendees must adhere to all COVID-19 safety requirements, including but not limited, to wearing a mask on ALL public transport.
3. I consent to being contacted by the USU via email about upcoming events and activities. I can opt out of these communications at any time.
4. I consent to being photographed by USU during the event for future promotion content on USU socials and communication channels.
