USYD Food Hub
Event description
USU in partnership with USYD Student Life & SRC - proudly funded by NSW Government, Study NSW and Food Bank Australia
To support the USYD student community, USU & SRC will launch USYD | Food Hub, available to all USYD international students.
Food Hub will operate out of Level 3 Wentworth Building, opposite Laneway Cafe every Tuesday 10am-12pm, Wednesday 12-2pm and Thursday 2-4pm, providing up to 100 hampers for collection each day.
During these difficult times we know it can be hard to know where to go for help. The Food Hub offers judgment free support, where you can pick up a hamper and get advice on the other services available to you.
Hampers are free but ticketed via Humanitix to manage supply and COVID-safe guidelines, though drop-ins are accommodated wherever possible. A typical hamper will contain an assortment of pantry staples plus any available fresh produce. Currently the offer is available to International Students only.
USU & SRC work with local charitable organisations such as Foodbank, Oz Harvest and Plate It Forward to source and purchase provisions for the program. We hope the Food Hub will expanded in 2021 to incorporate a Community Kitchen to distributes pre-made meals for students to enjoy.
SRC will be onsite to manage collection and chat to students
