UTS Ageing Research Collaborative (UARC) Research Seminar Series - 23 July 2025

UARC invites you to join us on Wednesday, 23 July, 1pm - 2pm in RES Hub (CB02.05.250) for our seminar in the UARC Research Seminar Series for 2025. 

UARC’s Co-Directors, Professor David Brown and Professor Deb Parker, will open the seminar and introduce this month’s presenters.  

This month, we are delighted to have Hon. Professor Mike Woods and Louise Malady deliver their presentations on the theme of Policy Impact.

About the Speakers 

Hon. Professor Mike Woods

Professor Mike Woods is Hon. Professor of Health Economics at the UTS Business School and is a Policy Advisor to UARC. He is a member of IHACPA’s Aged Care Advisory Committee. Mike was a former Deputy Chair of the Productivity Commission and has held appointments to Government Boards, health and aged care policy reviews, multilateral development agencies and foreign government reform programs.

Louise Malady

Louise Malady is a Policy Advisor to UARC focused on enabling academics working on transdisciplinary complex problems to improve the policy impact of their work to address the challenge of making aged care economically, socially and environmentally sustainable. Louise was a former financial prudential regulator, an academic researcher and advisor to multilateral development agencies and foreign financial regulators.

This event forms part of UARC’s Research Seminar Series at RES Hub, offered in-person only to facilitate collaboration and connection. This series provides a space for researchers to share their work, connect and collaborate with other UTS researchers who share a passion for ageing and aged care. UARC is led by UTS academics from multiple faculties working in collaboration with researchers from other universities, aged-care providers, health services, government agencies and consumer groups with the aim of identifying evidence-based solutions to the issues facing ageing and aged care that is sustainable in terms of its fiscal, financial, workforce and social dimensions.
