Description
The UTS Fashion Insider Speaker Series is designed to demonstrate the many aspects of the fashion industry that are crucial to success as a designer while showcasing multiple ways students can engage professionally with fashion.
Hosted by author and UTS PhD Researcher Dijanna Mulhearn, each speaker in this series is a leading Australian fashion insider from a different sector of the fashion business who will provide insight into their role, how it contributes to the industry and ways in which a student might engage or enter their field. Areas covered in series 1 include fashion design, retail, journalism, public relations and fashion show production.

2 April - Kellie Hush - CEO of Australian Fashion Week
15 April - Jess Pecoraro - Leading professional fashion stylist: celebrity, editorial and advertising and fashion influencer with 35K organic followers
29 April ( 1-2 pm)- Marie-Claude Mallat - Founder and Director of Australia’s leading fashion communications firm MCMPR
14 May - Brian and Vincent Wu - Founders of retail chain Incu and the Incu label
The format of each session will be structured around an introduction, a 40 minute 1:1 Q&A then a 15 minute open forum in which students can ask questions.
We are very excited to provide this overview of the fashion industry to the UTS Faculty of Design and Society (and wider UTS) students, and public, and look forward to inspiring the next generation of fashion professionals.
Doors open at 11:50 am for 12 pm commencement.
