UTS Film Retrospective
Event description
Did you know that UTS has over 10 years of film-making expertise? As part of the collaboration between UTS and the Sydney Film Festival, we will be hosting a retrospective of student film and animation projects over two days on 9-10 November, 2021. Grab a free choc top/snack and enjoy!
The selected films are outstanding projects and/or early works from Media Arts & Production students from the FASS (Faculty of Arts and Social Science), Animation (previously with Design Architecture and Building (DAB) now FASS) and the Animal Logic Academy (Faculty of Engineering and IT) alumni who have gone on to significant careers in the screen sector. The program of short films will explore a range of genres and will feature films such as 'Spirit', a collaborative group project from the Masters of Animation and Visualisation students at the UTS Animal Logic Academy. The 3D animated short film tells the story of a baby wombat and shows the impact of bushfires not only on the land itself, but to the animals that call it home.Â
Also on offer is the award winning, entertaining satire, 'The Likes of Brian' by Jake Duczynski and Colin Ross. Jake is a Gamilleroi man who recently produced and directed the Indigenous animated series 'Cooked' for the ABC.
