MECC Regional Competition at UTS

Event description
The 2025 Microsoft Excel Collegiate Challenge (MECC) Regionals are in-person competitions held at 6 universities around the World.
UTS Business School and the UTS Finance Society are hosting one of the events on 5 April 2025.
Two levels of difficult:
- Junior Varsity – For newcomers to Excel Esports.
- Varsity – For more experienced students.
Competing in four different types of Excel Esports cases:
- Speed challenges
- Visual cases (mapping / directions / cell locations and distances)
- Lookups and data referencing
- Formatting and Excel tools
What do students get out of the event?
- The top Varsity-level player from each regional event will be invited to participate in the Online Battle on May 10 for a spot in the MECC Semi-Finals in December in Las Vegas.
- The top Varsity-level team from each regional will qualify directly for the MECC Team Semi-Finals in December in Las Vegas.
- A chance to interact with Excel gurus:
