The UTS Teaching & Learning Forum is an opportunity for staff, students and partners to come together to share ideas, showcase innovative practices and explore the future of learning and teaching.

The Forum highlights educational practices, partnerships and innovations that advance the UTS 2030 vision of a creative, innovative, connected and student-centred university.

Join colleagues from across UTS to engage in thought-provoking discussions, discover inspiring initiatives, and contribute to shaping the future of learning both at UTS and beyond.

Forum Themes

We welcome contributions connected to any of the following themes. If your work spans more than one, that's a strength.

Student Experience, Success & Belonging

Creating relationship-rich, inclusive and supportive learning environments in which all students can thrive. This theme focuses on belonging, wellbeing, accessibility, transition and progression, student partnership, and practices that foster engagement, success and equitable outcomes across the student lifecycle.

Curriculum Transformation & Assessment Innovation

Reimagining curriculum and assessment to ensure learning remains meaningful, coherent and relevant in a rapidly changing world. This theme showcases whole-of-course thinking, connected curriculum design, assessment reform, authentic learning, assurance of learning, and innovative approaches that make student learning visible and future-ready.

Digital Learning & AI-Enabled Education

Exploring how digital technologies and generative AI can enhance learning, teaching and assessment in ethical, inclusive and future-focused ways. This theme highlights innovative learning design, AI literacy, digital capability, learning analytics, and approaches that prepare students to engage critically and effectively with emerging technologies.

Work-Integrated Learning, Community Engagement & Social Impact

Strengthening connections between learning, professional practice and societal impact. This theme highlights partnerships with industry, professions, Indigenous communities, community organisations and precincts, providing students with opportunities to apply disciplinary knowledge, develop professional capabilities, and contribute to local and global communities. It encompasses initiatives that embed the Indigenous Graduate Attribute, enabling graduates to work ethically, respectfully and effectively with and for Indigenous Australians in professional and community contexts.

Pathways, Access & Lifelong Learning

Expanding educational opportunity and supporting learning across all stages of life. This theme focuses on equitable access, flexible pathways, recognition of diverse learners, microcredentials, continuing professional learning, and educational models that enable lifelong engagement with UTS.

Global Education & Transnational Impact

Advancing UTS's global outlook through international collaboration, intercultural learning and transnational education. This theme explores global partnerships, offshore and online delivery models, virtual exchange, global citizenship, enabling students to contribute to sustainability and the UN SDGs and initiatives that extend the reach and impact of UTS education beyond geographical boundaries.
