    UTS Tech Festival is back in 2023, bigger and better!

    Hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and IT, Tech Festival brings current and prospective UTS students, academics and industry together to foster learning, inspiration, share ideas and promote innovation!​ You won't want to miss this two-week festival of events, showcases, hackathons, workshops and seminars!

    Games Showcase

    We are pleased to invite you to the annual UTS Autumn Student Games Showcase!

    Game development merges creativity and technology to create immersive digital experiences. From action-packed adventure games to interactive educational tools, games have become a powerful medium for entertainment and learning. 

    At the Games Showcase, you'll meet talented UTS students who have harnessed their passion and skill to produce engaging video and board games. It is a chance to celebrate our students' accomplishments this semester and show-off their skills as game designers/developers to a wider audience.

    From designing stunning graphics and animations to crafting compelling gameplay mechanics, these projects showcase the immense potential of game development to push the boundaries of what's possible in the digital world.

    Join us for an evening of game playing and networking with industry and research partners, while you enjoy the free food and prizes!

    DON'T MISS THE THE 5PM INDUSTRY TALK: Charles Garde (MSI Notebook FAE & Product Trainer) - Charles Garde is currently a Notebook FAE at MSI Computers Australia. He brings over 10 years’ experience adapting to the massive technological leaps in the Information and Communications Technology industry. Charles has a passion in delivering impactful training & development, across all delivery methods.

    Game Design Methodologies: This second year core BSc. Games Development subject introduces basic iterative design methodologies, playtesting practices, and game design theory through hands-on projects that emphasize rapid prototyping and kit-bashing to produce proof of concept games
    Game Design Studio 1: Our third year capstone subject for the BSc. in Games Development that teaches our students how to design, develop and implement a game based on client specifications. They examine the game mechanics for multiple indie and experimental games in developing their own game mechanics
    3D Computer Animation: This subject covers the major areas of 3D computer animation. It provides students with the opportunity to learn a major commercial 3D modelling, animation and rendering package. It also covers the principles and practice of pre-production planning, production management, and post-production of an animation project.
    Computer Graphics: This subject helps students develop problem-solving and communication skills in the context of computer graphics, including shape representation, manipulation and visualisation. It helps students enhance their skills to design and implement three-dimensional (3D) computer images, such as those used in animated films, virtual reality (VR), data visualisation and computer games.
