You won't want to miss this two-week festival of events, showcases, hackathons, workshops and seminars!
Microsoft: Empowering Women in IT - Build your career by building a portfolio or resume website
Learn the tech skills and the career skills to put your best foot forward when applying for jobs! You’ll build a custom website for your resume or portfolio so you can discuss your skills while showing real-life clickable proof to back it up!
In this session, we’ll cover how to launch a custom website using GitHub Pages. We’ll set you up with templates to get you started on showing off your work, experience, and skills in the form of a portfolio or resume website. From this you can take our tips on what content employers want to see, guides for styling your site professionally, and a few special features you could code if you want to stand out from the crowd technically and visually.
Also, take this opportunity to learn about the Microsoft Student Ambassador Program (great to put on that resume!) and the benefits to your career you can get by being involved.
Registrations essential - register by Friday 16 June 2023.
When: Wednesday 22 June 2023
Where: CB11.00.Room 405
Time: 12:00pm - 2:00pm
What to bring: please bring your own laptop. Create a GitHub account before the workshop if you can.
Bonus – think about the content you want to include on your resume or portfolio and get feedback from our Microsoft hosts.
