    UTS Tech Festival (June 20 – July 01, 2022 )is a two weeks festival of events, showcases, hackathons, workshops, masterclasses, seminars, competitions, industry-student engagement and much more! Our goal is to bring together students, academics and industry to foster learning, inspiration, share ideas and promote innovation.

    We’re excited to welcome you to our campus for the Seminar on Introduction to Cloud Computing and Microsoft Azure which is part of the UTS Tech Festival 2022!

     

    About:

    In this session, we will help you understand the basics of cloud computing. What is Cloud computing? what type of Clouds are available today? What is Cloud Computing’s up and down sides? Are only a few of the questions we will clarify for you.

    From this introduction to Cloud Computing, we’ll dive into one of the largest public Cloud available today: Microsoft Azure, focusing on its building blocks such as Identity, Computing, Storage, Networking, Security and go over some of the available solutions and tooling.

    Having a better understanding of those basic Cloud concepts will prepare you to jump into other Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies and arm you with the right tools to become a successful developer, engineer or architect.

    Presenter:

    Stephane Budo has been in the IT industry since he completed his university degree in computing science in 1995.

    Although starting his career as a C/C++ developer, he then moved in the IT infrastructure space through different roles such as System Administrator, Systems Engineer, and Network Engineer for international companies.In 2008, he partnered with Tom Ward to create Vigilant.IT, in which he continues to improve his skill set in the IT engineering and architecture space.

    Today, while Stephane’s primary focus is to continue to expand Vigilant.IT, his passion and expertise still lies within the architecture and deployment of hybrid and cloud-based solutions centred around Azure IaaS, Backup and Disaster recovery, Networking, Storage and Identity.

    Stephane has also been given the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional award 6 years running.
