UWA School of Design: Professional Development Evening
Description
Join us for an evening focused on enhancing teaching skills, expanding knowledge, and exploring new creative approaches. We will provide attendees with the opportunity to understand the environmental impacts of common building materials, as well as learning about the impact of design futures in the built environment and how teaching design disciplines can contribute to a dynamic and resilient environment.

4.15pm Architecture Workshop with Gemma Hohnen
‘Unpacking the Australian Home’
Using a collagist approach, we will be mapping the logistics of common building materials used in Australian housing. From the location of extraction to their final destination in-place we will begin to develop a picture of the environmental impacts and the design decisions that have led us there.
5.30pm Break and Networking over nibbles and drinks in the Cullity Gallery.
6.00pm Landscape Architecture Talk with Liam Mouritz
‘Super Natural: landscape architecture futures in WA’
A presentation on the work of Landscape Architecture duo Liam Mouritz and Daniel Jan Martin who co-lead the collaborative environmental and landscape practice Super Natural.
