Final project demonstration VaaN Wi-Fi Antenna, Wattamolla Beach
Description
Final Project Demonstration Vehicle-as-a-Node (VaaN) WiFi Antenna, Wattamolla Beach, NSW
Join the Connectivity Innovation Network (CIN) for a live presentation and field demonstration of the Vehicle-as-a-Node (VaaN) Antenna Development Project.
Selected through CIN's Vehicle-as-a-Node Antenna Development Call for Proposals, the project is developing a novel low-cost omnidirectional Wi-Fi antenna designed to improve connectivity for Vehicle-as-a-Node (VaaN) systems used by emergency service organisations.
Developed by Associate Professor Peiyuan Qin and Dr Lizhao Song from the University of Technology Sydney, in collaboration with WANFi Technology, the project aims to extend Wi-Fi coverage around VaaN-equipped vehicles, supporting more reliable connectivity for first responders operating in the field.
During this live field demonstration, attendees will see the antenna technology evaluated in a practical deployment environment, including demonstrations of:
Extended distance performance
High data-rate communications
Performance in the presence of physical obstructions
The project team will also provide an overview of the antenna design, the development process and the project's outcomes to date, followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.
Whether you're involved in emergency services, government, research or industry, this demonstration offers a unique opportunity to see an emerging connectivity solution designed to address real operational challenges.
