Veg Box Customer Afternoon Tea

Event description

Join us at the Green Connect farm for a special spring event just for veg box customers!

Without ongoing business and support from our amazing community, Green Connect wouldn't be able to grow food that is good for the people who grow it, the people who eat it, and the planet.

We want our customers to visit and connect with the land and people that grow your food. And so, we're excited to invite you to our next veg box customer get-together at our beautiful urban farm in Warrawong! There will be tea & coffee, homemade cakes and nibblies prepared from farm-grown produce, activities for kids, and great company. We will also venture out to different parts of the farm for mini farm tours to see our veggie gardens and to feed our animals.

Please RSVP by booking a ticket for all members of your household who wish to join us. If you have a small household and would like to bring a friend or two instead, please do!

If you can, please book your tickets by Thursday 21 March. If you'd like to RSVP after this time, send us an email at fairfood@green-connect.com.au; it shouldn't be a problem to squeeze you in. ;)

We look forward to seeing you there!

Before you join us, please be aware:

    • The site is a working farm. Visitors must participate in a safety briefing before entering the site and take responsibility for the safety of themselves and accompanying children.
    • The terrain at the farm beyond the farm hub and gardens is steep and slippery in parts and many areas are not currently accessible for people with mobility difficulties, people in wheelchairs or prams. Contact us if you have mobility challenges and we can make a plan for accessing flat parts of the site.
    • Closed-toed shoes or boots are required to enter the farm (no thongs or sandals please). Long pants are recommended.
    • Please wear clothes and shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. We may visit some of the animals or offer activities that are hands-on!
    • This is an all weather event so please come prepared! We recommend gumboots and rain jackets in the rain and sunhats and sunscreen in sun. Undercover space will be available in our education hub.
    • Allergen advice: Our farm is home to domestic animals as well as bees, wasps and macadamia trees. Please pack an Epipen if someone in your group has anaphylaxis and keep it with you at all times.
    • If you are unwell, we will ask you to stay home and join us another day.

    Thank you!

Thank you for supporting Green Connect through your purchase of fresh, local, organically-grown fruit and veg largely grown on our farm. We couldn't employ young people and former refugees to grow fair food and divert waste from landfill without you.
